What is 400 numbering?
It is a nine-digit range beginning with 400, assigned by the Resolution of 14 April 2026 of the Spanish Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure (BOE no. 93, 16 April 2026), for outgoing commercial calls.
Format example: 400 123 456
400 numbers clearly identify commercial calls. They are outgoing-only and do not receive incoming calls.
Does it apply to my company?
If your company makes sales, acquisition or prospecting calls, the general rule is that it must use 400 numbering.
It may apply to electricity, gas or telephone service providers with a national market share below 5% that are not large companies. It is transitional, so planning the change remains advisable.
